Request: A request by the Planning Commission to consider adoption of a Resolution opposing the Marymount College Initiative.

Action Deadline: None

Recommendation: Consider attached P.C. Resolution No. 2010-__, drafted by Commissioner Lewis taking a unanimous position in opposition to the Marymount Initiative certified for the November 2, 2010 Ballot.

2. GRADING PERMIT, HEIGHT VARIATION, VARIANCE & MINOR EXCEPTION PERMIT (CASE NO. ZON2009-00400): 5903 Clint Place / Tavasci (SK)
            To review the staff report click here

Request: A request to 1) construct a 26’ tall, 7,626ft² two-story residence (including garage) with 4,650yd³ of grading; 2) construct improvements over an extreme slope (manufactured or natural grade of 35% or greater); 3) construct a 14.5’ tall upsloping retaining wall to the west side of the property; 4) construct three separate retaining walls measuring up to 7.5’ in height to accommodate the new driveway; 5) revise the approved Grading Permit No. 1844 to allow for a driveway gradient in excess of 16.7%; 6) construct a combination wall in excess of 8’ in height; and 7) reduce the required front yard setback of 20’ to 10’ on a vacant lot located at 5903 Clint Place. The request also includes the construction of two separate walls measuring up to 10.5’ in height on the abutting property located at 5901 Clint Place.

Action Deadline: August 24, 2010

Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2010-__; thereby denying, without prejudice, the requested Height Variation, Grading Permit, Minor Exception Permit, Variance and Revision to Grading Permit No. 1844 (ZON2009-00400).

3. SITE PLAN REVIEW & VARIANCE (CASE NO. ZON2009-00367): 2422 Colt Road/ Jones (AH)
            To review the staff report click here

Request: A request to demolish an existing 252 square foot barn and construct an 800 square foot garage shop, measuring 15’-6” tall, located in the rear yard setback of an existing single-family residential property. Measuring 4’-4” from the easement along the rear of the property, the Variance request is to allow the proposed structure to be located within the required 15 foot rear setback area, as measured from the easement line.

Action Deadline: September 11, 2010

Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2010-__; thereby approving, with conditions, Case No. ZON2009-00367 for a Variance and Site Plan Review to allow the construction of a new 800 square foot detached garage shop within the rear yard setback area.
