Request: A request to construct a 131 square foot first floor addition and 1,467 square foot second floor addition to the existing 1,807 square foot residence (garage included). The overall height of the residence will measure 25’-0” as measured from the highest ridgeline to the lowest finished grade adjacent to the foundation/slab.

Action Deadline: May 15, 2011

Recommendation: Continue the public hearing to April 26, 2011.

2. REVISION TO MASTER SIGN PROGRAM (CASE NO. ZON2010-00104): 31244 Palos Verdes Drive West / Zarrabian (LM)
            To review the staff report click here

Request: A request to revise the Master Sign Program for the Golden Cove Center to add Building G (Admiral Risty Building) to the Master Sign Program. The applicant is requesting that the Admiral Risty be allowed to construct three “Admiral Risty” signs using “Pantone Blue” lettering instead of the common “Bottle Green” lettering required throughout the Center and incorporate four (4) future tenant identification signs on the lower level of Building “G”. In addition, as part of the revised Sign Program, the applicant is proposing to allow the following types of temporary banners: 1) temporary identification banners for a tenant while they apply for permanent signage, 2) temporary promotional/sale banners for each tenant, and 3) one “For Lease” banner for each tenant space, when vacant, to be affixed to the building wherever a permanent sign would be permitted above a vacant tenant space.

Recommendation: Adopt P.C. Resolution No. 2011-__, thereby conditionally approving the Revision to the Golden Cove Center Master Sign Program (Case No. ZON2010-00104).

3. TRIMMING FOLLOW-UP FOR CITY TREE REVIEW PERMIT (CASE NO. VRP2008-00031): Via Cambron / Via Collado and Berry Hill Drive / Carter / Parsons / O’Sullivan (AT)

Request: A request for the Planning Commission to determine if the trimming of ten (10) City-owned Canary Island Pine trees per Planning Commission Resolution 2011-01 has eliminated

the significant view impairment for the four applicants located at 7306, 7315, 7284 and 7333 Berry Hill Drive.

Recommendation: Adopt Planning Commission (P.C) Resolution No. 2011-__, thereby resolving that the trimming required per Planning Commission Resolution 2011-01 for Tree Nos. 1-10 has eliminated the significant view impairment from the applicants’ viewing areas at 7284, 7306, 7315 and 7333 Berry Hill Drive.
