Vicente Park/Civic Center, 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, this traditional day of family fun begins at 11:00 a.m. with nonstop enjoyment until 5:00 p.m. Mark your calendar now as a reminder to bring your family and friends to celebrate America's Happy Birthday, For the past several years, members of the City's Recreation and Parks Committee have worked to reduce the City's subsidy of this event by soliciting donations and merchandise. JULY 4TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The City’s 35th Annual Independence Day Celebration will be held on Sunday, July 4th, 2010.  Located at the Pt. Vicente Park/Civic Center, 30940 Hawthorne Boulevard, this traditional day of family fun starts at 11:00 a.m. with nonstop enjoyment until 5:00 p.m.

Bring your family and friends to listen to live music performed by Boomer McLellan and the Rhythm Rangers, the Palos Verdes Symphonic Band, and Michele Nardone’s violin students; shop in the arts and crafts area, and visit the midway which will feature rides and games for all ages.  For those seeking additional adventure, take a helicopter ride and get a bird’s-eye view of the celebration and our City’s coastline. Be sure to join in the pie-eating and hula-hoop contests.  For sheer entertainment, take in the Jim Gamble puppet show, visit the petting zoo, visit local community booths, ride ponies, and check out all the fun.  Enjoy the delicious food court and the beer and wine garden. 

Admission to the celebration is free, and complimentary shuttle service will be provided from Ralphs Market and the Point Vicente Interpretive Center.  On-site parking will be available on a first come, first-served basis for $4 per vehicle.
