Stanford Club Palos Verdes/South Bay brings together alums, parents, and any other friends of Stanford University. Football games, a professor's night, our special wine tasting event and some ad hoc educational/social events round out the year. As you can see, we have opportunities to have a lot of fun and to receive some mental stimulation from Stanford faculty. We also eat very well.

Although we are not primarily a fundraising organization, the Club always has a financial surplus that allows us to provide funds to benefit Stanford students. (The wine tasting party is the Club's one true fund-raiser.) From 1988-2000, the money was used as a summer public service fellowship for a Stanford undergraduate. We have also been able to send significant donations each year to the general undergraduate fund and to the Maria Hart Backer Scholarship Fund (named in memory of an outstanding young graduate of Stanford University and Palos Verdes High School).
