Gregory Peterson is organist and Director of Music at the Old South Church in Boston, where he presides over the 124-rank Skinner organ (1921). Dr. Peterson studied at St. Olaf College, earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa, holds the Master's degree from Yale and the DMA degree from the University of Iowa, where he studied with Delores Bruch. Saturday, January 25, 2003 at 5:45 p.m. in the home of Jean Galanos ANNUAL CONCERT SERIES BENEFIT RECITAL STEVE OLSEN cello STEVE OLSEN, a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, studied with Margaret Rowell in Berkeley, George Neikrug at Boston University, and Gabor Rejto at USC. He studied two summers at the Berkshire Music Festival at Tanglewood, Massachusetts, performing under the batons of Leonard Bernstein, Seiji Ozawa, and Michael Tilson Thomas. He was principal cellist of the California Youth Symphony, participating in its Australian and European tours, and also performed with the American Youth Symphony, the symphony orchestras of UCLA and UC Berkeley, and the Sacramento Symphony Orchestra. Steve's professional career is Vice Chancellor of Finance for UCLA. Requested minimum donation --$35 (includes dinner) |
