Planning Meeting Agenda
 
A Venturing representative meets with the crew committee and Advisor. The chartered organization should purchase the Venturing Leader Manual, No. 34655.

I. Make Introductions

Il. Explain the Venturing program (goals and methods).

III. Develop potential program opportunities for the next three months.
  • Review Venturing Program Development Guide, No.25-866.
  • Adapt results from your PCI forms to a program planning form. Hand out program planning forms. (See Venturing Leader Manual, No.34655.)
  • Plan an activity program for the first three months.

IV. Review the typical crew organization chart.

V. Complete firstnighter invitation letter.

VI. Review firstnighter agenda. (See Venturing Leader Manual, No.34655.)

  • Keep it brief, no longer than an hour and a half.
  • Invite friends or guests and parents.
  • If there is time, conduct an action tour just before refreshments.
  • Serve light refreshments during the question-and-answer period.
  • Registration must be a part of the firstnighter program.

VIII. Review the key steps to follow before the firstnighter.

  • Leaders are committed and registered with fees paid for all positions.
  • The new-unit application form is completed and signed by the CEO.
  • An outline of the crew's planned program is printed for distribution at the firstnighter. Specify the first several scheduled meeting slates, times, and locations.
  • Invitations are sent seven to 10 days before the firstnighter and followed up by phone the clay before the firstnighter.
