Briefing Meeting Agenda
 
A Scouting representative meets with the organization's chief executive officer (CEO) and key staff members for the purpose of making a definite commitment to the development of a Venturing crew.

I. Introductions

  • CEO introduces key staff members and Scouting representative.
  • CEO expresses interest in establishing Venturing crew(s) and suggests target date for invitation meeting (firstnighter).
  • CEO asks Scouting representative to conduct briefing and schedule basic training.

Il. How Venturing Works

  • Explain the purpose of Venturing; review venturing Program Development Guide, No. 25-866.
  • Describe the benefits to the company, adult volunteers, and youth members.
  • Explain Ethics in Action in Venturing.

III. Determining the Market for Venturing

  • Hand out copies of your student hobby interest survey totals.
  • Promote Venturing as a worthwhile program for youth.
IV. Adult Leader Roles and Responsibility
  • Hand out typical crew organization charts.
  • Hand out copies of the charter agreement to organize a Venturing crew.

V. Program Support and Methods

  • Hand out copies of the program capability inventory (PCI). (See Venturing Leader Manual, No. 34655.) Set a date to complete PCI: ______________.
  • Schedule adult Venturing Leader Basic Training.
  • Schedule the crew planning meeting.
