"Music In The Mansion"
2004-2005 Recitals
Free - Donations Appreciated
The Beverly Hills "Music In The Mansion" recital series
(previously "Sundays@Two"), under the Artistic Direction of
Laura Schmieder and presenting some of the finest artists from
Southern California and around the world, is previewed on
Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. in Manhattan Beach at Trinity Lutheran
Church. The same recitals are presented the following day in the
historic Beverly Hills Greystone Mansion. Admission is $20 for
adults and $15 for seniors, students, and children age 10 & up,
and includes a post-concert reception and a guided tour of the
1st floor of the mansion.

Ordabek Duissen, both winners of
major international competitions, are
members of the I Palpiti Orchestra and
study with Maestro Eduard Schmieder
at the Meadows School of the Arts in
Dallas.

ALISON BJORKEDAL harp
Alison Bjorkedal began her musical
studies at the age of three with piano
and has been studying harp for nine
years. A recent graduate magna cum
laude from the University of Oregon,
Alison is currently working toward
her Master's of Music at USC, where
she studies with Professor JoAnn
Turovsky. Recent symphonic and
chamber performances include the
Music Academy of the West Festival
Orchestra, the USC Symphony and
Chamber orchestras, and the world
premiere of William Kraft's Encounters XII for harp and
percussion.

TETRAKTYS STRING QUARTET

Violinists Stanislav Zakrjevski from Russia and Ziga
Faganel from Slovenia, violist Luke Maurer from Santa
Barbara, and cellist Gal Faganel also from Slovenia, are
graduate students at USC. The Tetraktys String Quartet was a
finalist in the 2004 Coleman Chamber Music Competition. |

ACHILLES LIARMAKOPOULOS trombone

BLUE ROSE TRIO
Achilles Liarmakopoulos studies at the San
Francisco Conservatory and won its 2004
Concerto Competition.
Members of the Blue Rose Trio, pianist Rose
Chen, violinist Audrey Solomon, and cellist Lars Hoefs, are
graduates at the USC Thornton School of Music. |

BLUE ROSE TRIO

Returning again this season by popular demand for a full
program, members of the Blue Rose Trio, violinist Audrey
Solomon, cellist Lars Hoefs, and pianist Rose Chen, are
graduate students at the USC Thornton School of Music. The
Trio was among the finalists in the Coleman Competition, and
its members have played in master classes for Menahem
Pressler, members of the Eroica and Raphael Trios and the
Takacs and Ysaÿe Quartets. Last August they traveled to Rio de
Janeiro to perform in the International Cello Encounters festival. |

TOSHEFF PIANO DUO
Bulgarian-born duo pianists Vely
Stoyanova and Ilia Tosheff have
won numerous international
competitions, including Grand Prize
in the Tokyo International Piano
Duo Competition. They are the first
to study as a duo with the
world-renowned pianist John Perry at USC Thornton School of
Music.

TIBI CZIGER clarinet
and
INYOUNG HUH piano
Born in Tel Aviv in 1981, Tibi Cziger studied at the Rubin
Music Academy in Tel Aviv and the Israeli Conservatoire.
Tibi's numerous awards include first prizes in the Israeli
Conservatoire Competition, the Tel Aviv Academy Concerto
Competition, and the Tel Aviv Academy Chamber Music
Competition. He is studying toward a Master's at USC under
Yehuda Gilad. |

JOVANNI-REY VERCELES DE PEDRO piano
A winner of five major national and international competitions,
including the International Pacific Piano Competition (Canada),
22-year-old Jovanni De Pedro studied with renowned Los
Angeles teacher Professor Robert Ward. Currently, Jovanni-Rey
is studying at the Vienna Conservatory of Music under full
scholarship.

Danielle Ondarza french horn, Myka Miller oboe, Jenni
Olson Scott flute, Lucy Chuang clarinet, Sara Schoenbeck
bassoon were students together at the USC Thornton School of
Music (except Sara, who earned her BFA from the San
Francisco Conservatory of Music and her MFA from the
CalArts) and were selected to perform at the Laguna Beach
Chamber Music Festival.
